Profile

Practical, curious student who has recently completed GCSEs and is looking for work experience, an apprenticeship or further education in IT, digital marketing or media. I learn by taking on real projects: I have built and run my own Ubuntu Server NAS and game servers, built and repaired PCs, and made video and graphic content. I work through problems one step at a time, and I can explain technical issues clearly to people who are not technical.

Projects & practical experience

Home Server & NAS

  • Built and configured an Ubuntu Server NAS with RAID storage and remote administration, so it can be managed from anywhere
  • Run several services on one machine, including game servers, with networking and port forwarding configured
  • Diagnose and fix hardware and software faults as they appear, rather than following a fixed guide

Game Server Hosting

  • Host and maintain Minecraft servers for around six regular players, supporting both Java and Bedrock
  • Manage plugins, permissions, configuration and updates; tracked down lag and compatibility problems by testing changes one at a time

PC Building, Repair & Troubleshooting

  • Built and upgraded my own desktop PC and replaced faulty components
  • Resolved RAM and stability problems by isolating variables in BIOS and memory settings instead of replacing parts blindly
  • Regularly help friends and people around me with PC hardware, software and gaming setups

Video, Graphics & Content

  • Edit video in VEGAS Pro and create graphics for personal projects, websites and gaming communities
  • Create and manage content for online communities

Personal Website

  • Designed, built and maintain my own portfolio site (bushyinc.co.uk) in HTML and CSS, using AI tools to learn and troubleshoot, then editing and testing the result myself
